Merow & Jacoby, P.C. is a small law firm, with our primary office located in Reading, Pennsylvania, the county seat of Berks County, PA. We also maintain offices in Hamburg, PA (northern Berks County); Orwisburg, PA (Schuylkill County) and Allentown, PA (Lehigh County). There are currently three attorneys in the firm. We concentrate our practice in four areas of law. These include Domestic Relations (divorce, custody, support and protection from abuse), Personal Injury (motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, slip and fall accidents, dogbite injuries and defective premises), Worker's Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, Business Law and Criminal Defense (both adult and juvenile offenses). In addition to the attorney's at the firm, we also have serving our clients a full time interpreter (Spanish/English), a paralegal and a legal secretary. The attorneys at Merow & Jacoby, P.C. have collectively greater than 40 years of experience.    

     The law firm was started in 1997 by Attorney Joel H. Merow. In 2001, Attorney Richard G. Jacoby, Jr., who had been an associate with Attorney Merow, was elevated to Partner. Mr. Merow practices in all of the firm's areas of practice, while Mr. Jacoby concentrates his attentions to the areas of Domestic Relations and Personal Injury. The firm's third attorney, Thad M. Gelsinger, also practices in all areas of the firm's diversity, with a focus on Business Law. Our attorneys live near our offices, allowing for convenience of appointments and client meetings.
